Week 10 # 23 Good bye

Well the time has come it has been a long run and I have enjoyed myself. I have learned so much some great such as: the Meez, and the U-tube; and some not so good for example, Library 2.0 and thr RSS. I have to say that "MEEZ" was the best assignment the I worked on. The reason I say this is the fact that everyone I worked on this project with had a blast doing it.

I have dicovered there is more to the internet than just checking one's email and paying a few bills. I have developed some techinques that will live with me for the rest of my life and that I will continue to use and to become one with. I was very proud of myself when I discovered something new and was very happy to relearned things I know something about.

I think that the Harris County Public Library has done a great job job with its website it is one of the best around, and beleive me, as a online college student I have looked long and hard. I enjoy working within the website, everytime I use the site I am impressed with the informatio that I find. Great job to me and you all of you out there in cyber-space.

I really did not have to try out HCPL's digital site, casue I use it all the time. I think it is a great tool. I have listened to many books on from the website, and have refered it over to many of my freinds. The audio section is the best:

To see for yourself goto HCPL and give it a run.

The Podcast assignment was boring. After I looked on the podcast articles I was really confused. I did not enjoy doing this assignment. It was interesting to learn about the history of podcasting, other than that I learned anothing else.

Soical Networking

I never would have imagine that these words would mean something. I am not that big on sites such as MY SPACE or YAHOO 360. I feel that people put too much of themselves out over the cyber waves. Also I have one major question who actullay owns these site, and who is really getting paid from the massive information that is being received minuite by minute on theses such site.

Now I will say this about these such site thay are very good for networkingor getting to the right person about the riget thing. I created a account of "Facebook" I was amazed all the info that I gained just by wondering around on the site, I did the same thing for "Xanga", now this site was not at all impressive, infact it was kind of slow compared to what else is out there in cyber-world.

But one of the best coolest sites that I have touched on in a long time is "Dogster". I had a blast surfing on the site. I really loved to learned about others dog. Again this is where the one thing that I feel usuful about Social Newtorking come in and that is being able to pick other brains that are in similar situations such as you are.

Social Networking is just another way of letting the world kwon that thing that we used to know are a thing of a the past, and either we catch the train or be left alone at the station.

Week 6 #15

This week lesson was not too eciting to lear about. It was alot of reading about things that really does not intrest me. I that this information is more useful for the upper level staff in our library system. after reading the article from Rick Anderson, on Web 2.0 I agree with on one thing that was mentioned, that is Libraries are poorly equipped and insuffiently staffed for teaching. The fact is that many libraries that offer more than books to read, and fun things to look at. Some examples are school libraries and libraries that are surrounded that diiferent types of public/private schools, these school must be able to provide better or different way to enable our student to learn.

I also looked at the Library 2.0 Manifesto website, it again was geared more to the upper level library personnel. I really thought that this site was boring.
