WK 8 # 18

Soical Networking

I never would have imagine that these words would mean something. I am not that big on sites such as MY SPACE or YAHOO 360. I feel that people put too much of themselves out over the cyber waves. Also I have one major question who actullay owns these site, and who is really getting paid from the massive information that is being received minuite by minute on theses such site.

Now I will say this about these such site thay are very good for networkingor getting to the right person about the riget thing. I created a account of "Facebook" I was amazed all the info that I gained just by wondering around on the site, I did the same thing for "Xanga", now this site was not at all impressive, infact it was kind of slow compared to what else is out there in cyber-world.

But one of the best coolest sites that I have touched on in a long time is "Dogster". I had a blast surfing on the site. I really loved to learned about others dog. Again this is where the one thing that I feel usuful about Social Newtorking come in and that is being able to pick other brains that are in similar situations such as you are.

Social Networking is just another way of letting the world kwon that thing that we used to know are a thing of a the past, and either we catch the train or be left alone at the station.

Week 6 #15

This week lesson was not too eciting to lear about. It was alot of reading about things that really does not intrest me. I that this information is more useful for the upper level staff in our library system. after reading the article from Rick Anderson, on Web 2.0 I agree with on one thing that was mentioned, that is Libraries are poorly equipped and insuffiently staffed for teaching. The fact is that many libraries that offer more than books to read, and fun things to look at. Some examples are school libraries and libraries that are surrounded that diiferent types of public/private schools, these school must be able to provide better or different way to enable our student to learn.

I also looked at the Library 2.0 Manifesto website, it again was geared more to the upper level library personnel. I really thought that this site was boring.

Week 6 # 13

Learning 2.0 was knowledgeable to me. I knew a little about the many changes that were begining to happen to Library Systems all over the country. But 2.0 really paints a picture. It also lets you get a feel for other. I went to the orginal Learning 2.0
and I really enjoyed it. I think it is a soild based bolg site. I will visit it again. As I read it is a great tool.

Week 7 # 16 "WIKI"

After being able to get the wiki, I thought it was cool to see what other people was writing. Also I like the that in order to leave your post it was like leaving a simple email. The creators of the site must have been very smart people.

In reference to have this website/service to come in handy in a library setting; using this site can be a great way to see what the partons are doing and how they are feeling about what is going in with the library system. Also this site comes in handy when the branch has some useful or interesting idea to rely to its patrons.

I really do not like to read, but to read and be able to apply as well is a good way to express yourself and offer a example as well.

Week 7 #17

I would like to talk about the new cell phone that are on the market or coming on the market. I like to upgrade my cell phone about every 2 yrs. due to the new features that the phone has. The think (ever through I can not afford one) the Iphone is by far the best on the market. It has all the feature of a radio, tv, cell, the net, and a PDA rapped into one.

Technology has come a long way with the cell. I had one of the orginal huge cell phone with the chappy service, and the sky high bill "remember Houston Celluar" .

Week 6 #14

Today I played around on this boring website. The site named "Technorati" allows you search for all kinds of blogs. It was not fun to play on this website. It look to me like a hugh search engine.

There is one neat thing about this website, it is the amount of different ways that you could search for item. There are about 7 to 10 different ways to search; which can lead to hundereds of different combination. I have siad it before and I will say it again, bloggin is slowly becoming the way of effective communications. I offer a non-personal way to get the word out or to sate your opinion/the way you feel about certain things. Through taking it own sweet time bloggin is take over where as text messaging was a few years ago.

After I used this site, I discovered that when you search for a blog that it depends on which option to use, what results that will be given, for example when I searched for the learning 2.0 in the tag area I got results such as webcast, live feeds, etc but then I did a general search I got just got different blogs

Today

JUST TO LET YOU ALL KNOW WHATIMTHINKIN:

Today when I was driving into to work I learned of some distruping stories going on this country of ours. First, what is the world coming to; a mother buys her home-schooled son weapons so he can hurt others. I could not believe it when I heard it. Read more of this story at: "Sick Kid".
Second, the young man from Jena, LA is back in jail. My question is WHY DIDN'T ANYBODY LET THE US KNOW THAT HE WAS ON PROBATION; see the update for this story at "Jena 6". Lastly, there has been a major recall AGAIN. Banquet is in major hot water, read more at "Banquet Mess".

The US is going crazy. I hope that all is well in whoever reads this. Please remember be aware and love yourselves, and things will get hopefully get better.
